Real Hands-On delivered an in-house Balanced Scorecard Professional programme for Saudi German Hospital Group, enabling senior leaders to translate strategy into measurable objectives, KPIs, and a cascaded scorecard system.
Saudi German Hospital Group is one of the leading private hospital groups in the MENA region, with facilities across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. The group engaged Real Hands-On to strengthen internal Balanced Scorecard capability and move from ad hoc performance reporting to a structured strategy execution and performance management system.
Programme Design
The three-day in-house programme was customised for healthcare leadership priorities. Day one focused on building a corporate strategy map for a multi-site hospital group: defining strategic objectives across the Balanced Scorecard perspectives — Financial Performance, Patient & Community Value, Clinical and Operational Excellence, and Learning & Innovation.
Outcome: A validated group-level strategy map and a KPI Dictionary covering 24 strategic objectives, ready for departmental cascade.
Workshop Highlights
A facilitated strategy map workshop enabled cross-functional teams to build and challenge cause-and-effect relationships between objectives. The resulting map became the group's first formally agreed strategic architecture — serving as the basis for KPI selection, initiative planning, and performance review cadence.
KPI Design and Cascade
Day three focused on KPI design using KPI card methodology. For each strategic objective, teams defined 2–3 KPIs and clarified definitions, formulas, ownership, and reporting cadence. Particular focus was given to clinical quality KPIs and the distinction between outcome and process indicators.
